Who We Are?

About

Pioneers-Africa is part of the International Fellowship of PIONEERS which currently has workers serving in over 94 countries around the world.

In 1986, a Ghanaian medical doctor by the name Dr. Solomon Aryeetey and his wife Leticia lived among the Fulani Muslims in Mali learning the language and showing God’s love, and sharing the good news from hut-to-hut through mobile medical clinics.
Through that, a small band of believers were discipled and began taking the gospel to their own people.

What began as a “feeble” effort in 1996 is now called Pioneers-Africa and has today, by the grace of God, grown to involve 300 African workers and volunteers who are serving among more than 60 Unreached Peoples (UPs) in 13 African countries.
Pioneers-Africa values integrity and accountability. For this reason, we link arms with other evangelical mission organizations and submit to godly leadership.

Our Mission

Pioneers mobilises teams to glorify God among unreached peoples by initiating church planting movements in partnership with local churches.

Our Core Values

Pioneers’ core values reflect the passions, practices and personality of its members and drive us to plant churches in the world’s most challenging environments.

PASSION FOR GOD

The Great Commandment is our motive for the Great Commission. We want to live our lives fully surrendered to Him so that all nations may know that He alone is God.

THE UNREACHED PEOPLE GROUP

Some cultures in the world have no neighbours who can tell them about Jesus Christ. Our hope is to share God’s love with those people in places where the gospel is yet to be effectively proclaimed.

CHURCH PLANTING MOVEMENTS

We are committed to helping people know and follow Jesus. And to the process of empowering and equipping those believers to become disciple makers of others – bodies of believers that, by the power of the Holy Spirit, are intentional about planting other churches.

THE UNREACHED PEOPLE GROUP

Some cultures in the world have no neighbours who can tell them about Jesus Christ. Our hope is to share God’s love with those people in places where the gospel is yet to be effectively proclaimed.

ETHOS OF GRACE

We affirm that God’s grace operates uniquely in the lives of all believers. In all our relationships, we endeavor to cultivate an atmosphere of mutual acceptance and respect which encourages each of us to attain our full potential in Christ.

LOCAL CHURCH PARTNERSHIP

The mandate for mission has everything to do with the church. So our work today has everything to do with the local church, from the beginning of the sending process to church-based movements around the world

TEAM CENTERED

We accomplish our mission through teams mobilized from around the world. Teams develop and implement appropriate strategies using various gifts and methods while modeling Christian unity. We are committed to international fellowship, celebrating cultural diversity in the global task.

INNOVATION AND FLEXIBILITY

Reaching the world’s remaining unreached peoples requires creativity and a sensitivity to the unique calling, vision and needs of each missionary.

PARTICIPATORY SERVANT LEADERSHIP

We empower our members through a decentralised structure that emphasises team-based servant leadership and an interactive approach to decision-making, based on mutual trust and accountability.

OUR STATEMENT OF FAITH

WE BELIEVE

that the Holy Scriptures, consisting of Old and New Testaments, were originally given by God, divinely inspired, without error, infallible, and are entirely trustworthy and the supreme authority in all matters of faith and practice.

WE BELIEVE

in our Lord Jesus Christ, God manifest in the flesh, His virgin birth, sinless life, divine miracles, vicarious and atoning death on the cross, bodily resurrection, ascension and exaltation, mediatorial work, and personal, imminent and visible return in power and glory.

WE BELIEVE

that Adam and Eve, created in the image of God, were tempted by Satan, the god of this world, and fell; that their sin has passed to all people, who as a result are lost, are unable to save themselves from the wrath of God, and need to be saved

WE BELIEVE

that salvation is a gift of God to those who repent and personally believe in Jesus Christ; that it is accomplished by God’s grace through the shed blood of the Lord Jesus Christ and regeneration by the Holy Spirit.

WE BELIEVE

in God the Holy Spirit who indwells all believers enabling them to live holy lives, and to witness and work for the Lord Jesus Christ, despite opposition from the world, the flesh and Satan.

WE BELIEVE

in the resurrection of both the saved and the lost; they that are saved unto the resurrection of eternal life with God, they that are lost unto the resurrection of eternal condemnation separated from God.

WE BELIEVE

that Christ commanded the Church to go into all the world and make disciples of all peoples, baptising them in the name of the Father, Son and Holy Spirit, and teaching those who believe to obey all that Christ commanded.

WE BELIEVE

in the spiritual unity of all true believers, the universal Church, the Body of Christ.

WE BELIEVE

in one God, Creator of all things, eternally existent in three persons: Father, Son and Holy Spirit.
